Skatebird’s miniature Tony Hawks (get it?!) will be hitting the parks later this year, according to a new clip shown at IGN’s Summer of Gaming conference.
Skatebird, the ideal name for a perfect pitch, is an arcade skating game similar to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with one key distinction. The skaters are little birds spinning about appropriately little improvised playgrounds created around rooftops and furniture.
The greatest thing, of course, is that below all of this strutting lies a fantastic bird dress-up game. You may choose from over 30 different sorts of birds and dress them up in various hats, scarves, and accessories. You can even test it right now on Itch with SkateBIRD x JAZZ MICKLE’s Pro Cap Wearer to conduct a Spoopy Combo.
Skateboarding games are now experiencing a rebirth. Skatebird wasn’t alone in tonight’s IGN presentation, with the stunning Olli Olli World demonstrating its new skills. Forget THPS and EA’s Skate—indies are shaping a new brand of skating sim.
Skatebird will be available on Steam and Itch.io on August 12th.
