The trailer for Tails of Iron tells a story of savage animal group conflict, told by Geralt.

I’ve determined that I could listen to Doug Cockle discuss anything. Geralt’s voice actor appears to have utilised his gravely vocal abilities to narrate the video for the forthcoming RPG adventure game Tails of Iron, which debuted at this year’s Future Games Show.

The video depicts a grim past with two warring kingdoms—the rats and the frogs—that have been attacking each other’s territory for ages. As the rat king’s age catches up with him, it’s up to his son, Redgi, to take over the throne. As Redgi, you must repel approaching frog invasions and embark on a journey to defend your country from extinction.

The clip doesn’t reveal much about the action, but it appears you’ll be fighting a variety of nasty-looking frogs in brief confrontations. The combat is advertised as “difficult” and “violent,” but the teaser doesn’t reveal much.

The tale appears to be somewhat gloomy, and I’m really like the game’s graphical aesthetic. It has a Redwall flavor about it, which I believe the game was heavily inspired by. Tails of Iron has no official release date, though its Steam website indicates a 2021 release date.
