Tell Me Why is free this month

All three chapters of Dontnod’s spooky sibling adventure Tell Me Why are available for free download and play on the Windows Store for the rest of the month.

Tell Me Why’s first act became permanently free earlier this year. The full trilogy is now free to keep on the Windows Store—but not on Steam, for reasons that have not been explained. Dontnod hasn’t even said why Tell Me Why is being given away.

Given the subject matter, it’s probable that Tell Me Why will be available for free throughout Pride month. The game follows a trans guy as he reconnects with his birthplace, which PCG’s reviewer Sam Greer thought could’ve been something remarkable if it didn’t swiftly devolve into Dontnod’s brand of superpowered hijinks.

“Tell Me Why also wants to tell a dark and mystery narrative about the twins’ background, with a scary cloaked person hunting them and covering up a conspiracy, all while the supernatural threatens everything. The whiplash sensation felt when the game swerves between these two tones is dangerous.”

Tell Me Why, on the other hand, may be incredibly exceptional when it focuses on small-town connections. At the very least, it’s unique enough that it’s probably worth a go now that the whole thing is free.
