On Wednesday, June 9, No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle will be available for the first time on PC via Steam.
XSEED Games, which also published the latest Nintendo Switch port, is responsible for the two PC versions. Both games will be available individually on Steam for $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99, with a 10% launch discount that will remain until June 15.
Though neither remasters nor remakes, the 2007 and 2010 Wii cult favorites will make their PC premiere with HD resolution, smoother 60FPS gameplay, and “added features” such as Steam Cloud compatibility.
No More Heroes is an action-adventure hack-and-slash series with anime-esque visuals, a filthy sense of humor, and over-the-top boss battles if you haven’t played the original games. Both games were well-received when they originally came out, but they’ve since become cult classics, particularly the first. It would be fascinating to watch how they fare in the eyes of a new generation who are seeing them for the first time on PC. Wednesday, June 9th, at 9:00 a.m.
Fans of the series have been waiting for the next mainline No More Heroes game for an inordinately long period, with the most recent being No More Heroes 2 in 2010. Of course, there’s Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, a top-down arcade-style spinoff released in 2019, but No More Heroes 3 will be a decade in the making.
No More Heroes 3 was supposed to be released in 2020, however, it was pushed back to 2021 for reasons that probably don’t need to be explained at this time. It will now be released on August 27 for the Nintendo Switch, and it will most likely find its way to additional platforms in the future, much like the previous games.
