Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming to Epic Games Store.

Alan Wake, Remedy’s 2010 supernatural shooter, maybe getting a remake, according to an updated listing on the Epic Games Store.

Observed by an industry events magnet Wario64, an Epic Games Store site tracker, noticed modifications to a listing nicknamed HeronStaging that included a cloud save folder reference for Alan Wake Remastered. Pineapple QA, another item, was found performing a similar trick for Final Fantasy 7 Remastered, which currently has no PC release date.

Final Fantasy 7’s 12-month exclusivity term for PlayStation consoles ended in April, according to VGC, however, Square hasn’t made any public statements on other platforms. However, the publisher did just release the complete Kingdom Hearts series on PC for the first time via Epic.

Meanwhile, Remedy is collaborating with Epic on two significant projects: a “AAA multiplatform game” and a smaller-scale game set in the same universe. Remedy has also hinted at a return to Alan Wake as part of a Remedy Connected Universe for quite some time. If one of these two games is a new Alan Wake, it’s not difficult to imagine the smaller project being a remake of the 11-year-old original.

It’s worth mentioning that both references were deleted from the EpicData Tracker at the time of writing. Neither Alan Wake Remastered nor an FF7R Epic release have been formally announced, but both are becoming increasingly plausible.
