Death Stranding Director’s Cut teased during Summer Game Fest 2021

Death Stranding, PC Gamer’s 2020 Game of the Year, is getting an upgrade in the form of a Director’s Cut version, with the complete announcement expected “weeks away,” according to Geoff Keighley, who disclosed the news via a video that disclosed very little about what to anticipate.

The video was riddled with allusions to Kojima’s classic Konami series. The teaser began with Norman Reedus’s character, Sam Porter Bridges, inspecting an underground facility, with Metal Gear Solid soundtrack playing in the background. Soldiers strolled across a grid of cargo, similar to the beginning of Metal Gear Solid’s Shadow Moses scenario.

Sam finds a box, pours the oranges inside, and appears to be about to climb beneath it like Solid Snake, but instead flips it and climbs into the top before falling foetal.

So, what exactly did we learn? You’ll have to tell me.
