Forza Horizon 5 will be released on November 9th, and will take place in Mexico this time. Forza Horizon 5, which was introduced at Microsoft’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, looks great in its first video, which shows off some new ray-tracing and photogrammetry tech. It’s unquestionably the best-looking Forza ever, with massive dust storms, lush greenery, and volcanic vistas.
The ad follows you as you travel around Mexico with a merry band of drivers in search of new locations for the festival. Horizon 5 will also have some fancy new weather phenomena, such as tropical storms and the massive dust storm shown in the teaser.
The skyboxes are true 12k 24-hour loops of genuine Mexican skies shot with sophisticated HDR camera gear, which only dorks like myself can appreciate. Forza looks great when combined with the new ray-tracing lighting technology and incredibly realistic photogrammetry textures. Like, very good.
There’s a section in the gameplay clip below (about 4:50) when they’re racing across a small stream, and the sky and landscapes are wonderfully mirrored in the water as the vehicles distort it by vrooming. I am a huge admirer.
As with other Microsoft games, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the start.
