Horizon Zero Dawn is now freely available to both PS4 and PS5 users, from Sony and Guerrilla Games. Owners of PlayStation may redeem a digital copy of the game at 8 PM PT/11 PM ET by May 14th, at both consoles.
The free copy is the full edition, so you will not only get the standard game but some bonus items, including the expansion of the Frozen Wilds and a digital book. Unlike the Free PS Plus games, which require an active service subscription, Sony offers the game for free without attaching any strings.
Originally launched as a PS4 exclusive in 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn follow a young hunter, Aloy, in a machine-dominated post-apocalyptic universe who seeks insights into her history. A sequel called the Forbidden West, which will debut on the PS4 and PS5 sometime this year has also been confirmed for release.
The campaign is part of the Sony “Play at Home” programme, which seeks to inspire PlayStation owners, by encouraging players to stay home during the pandemic until June. Furthermore, until 22 April at 8 pm PT/11 PM ET, Sony will be offering nine games, including Astro Bot Rescue and Enter the Gungeon, free of charge.
