During this year’s Future Games Show, we got a look at Project Ferocious, a forthcoming survival shooter. That’s a decent enough codename to maintain for the final product, similar to Untitled Goose Game because it suits nicely. Project Ferocious is a first-person shooter set on an island teeming with ancient monsters—a strange forgotten planet where the well-armed human residents are just as dangerous as the dinosaurs.
Project Ferocious appears to have a major exploration component, with climbing and swimming—and the water appears to be no safer than the land—as well as vehicles to go around in. The shooting appears to be fierce, with a range of modern-day weaponry and destructible environments, and we caught a peek of a healing animation featuring hands being wrapped, similar to Far Cry or Trespasser.
Project Ferocious is the brainchild of independent developer OMYOG, and it looks rather good for an indie FPS. It also has a Steam website and is set to be released in 2023.
