The surreal point-and-click adventure Rusty Lake Hotel is about a series of lavish dinner parties and the elegant diners that join them. Your job, as a sort of ghostly maître d’, is to ensure that all of the guests are properly served, and while I don’t want to give too much away, if the word “served” in this sense conjures up images of a certain popular 1950s sci-fi short storey, you’re on the right track.
Hotel was the game that first drew me into the Rusty Lake/Cube Escape franchise, and it remains one of my favourites. And now you can find out for free what it’s all about: The whole game is available for free on Steam until May 1. It has also received a massive upgrade, which includes a host of important new features, such as:
- 18 new translations
- Steam achievements and Steam Cloud Save
- Fullscreen function
- And a way to replay each room!
If you give it a shot (which I highly recommend), and you like what you see, the rest of the Rusty Lake games are also on sale for half-price until May 3.
