On May 22 of last year, Saints Row: The Third Remastered was released exclusively on the Epic store. As is always the case with these stuff, that means it’ll be available on Steam on May 22 of this year, as reported by the Saints Row Twitter account.
The remaster includes all DLC as well as “improved visual effects, lighting, and re-built character, car, and weapon models.” The original soundtrack remains intact since it was always flawless. Although the remaster was made primarily to enable Saints Row 3 to be re-released on PS4 and Xbox One, the enhanced draw distances, updated environmental textures, and new character models make it enticing to return to Steelport.
It’s not critical, however, since the original version of Saints Row: The Third looks great on PC. Saints Row 2 has a rougher PC port, and an official fix is in the works, with modder Mike ‘IdolNinja’ Watson (who worked on the Gentlemen of the Row mod) in charge. However, work has been slowed due to Watson’s cancer diagnosis. You will stay up to date by following his Twitter account.
