Shin Megami Tensei V New Gameplay Trailer revealed

The Nintendo Direct that broadcast during E3 2021 confirmed much of what had already been speculated – Shin Megami Tensei V would be released later this year on November 12. The leaks in question circulated earlier this month, revealing not only the launch date but also Shin Megami Tensei V plot elements. (It is worth mentioning, though, that the leaks pointed to a now-provably erroneous November 11 due date.)

According to Persona Central, the information concerning the new Shin Megami Tensei title was accidentally updated on the game’s official Japanese website. The story-related details that were revealed were also not small. Players will take on the role of a high school student who falls into the enigmatic post-apocalyptic dimension of Da’ath in the Nintendo Switch-exclusive adventure. While roaming, the youngster encounters a mysterious entity with whom he merges to become the prohibited entity known as “Naobino.” Thus, a regular student’s life becomes entwined with a full-fledged Angels against Demons fight.

Shin Megami Tensei V received some attention at Nintendo’s E3 2021 presentation, as predicted. The next Shin Megami Tensei title will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 12, with preorders for the physical version opening later that month on June 21. During the digital event, a few minutes of gameplay were showed off, giving fans to get a feel for the command-based combat system, which will likely prove useful while facing hostile demon adversaries.

Fortunately, it looks like Atlus will stick to its prior intention of releasing the game simultaneously all across the world. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to test out the next adventure in the long-running franchise. While a few elements are still being kept under wraps for the time being, Nintendo and Atlus should be able to release more in the following months.

The Megami Tensei series began in the late 1980s with a role-playing game distributed on PC and consoles. Shin Megami Tensei as we know it now, on the other hand, did not appear until 1992. It’s stayed niche for much of its climb to prominence, but Persona spinoffs surely catapulted the brand into the stratosphere, a level from which the Atlus-created adventures are unlikely to drop anytime soon.
