We got another fascinating, though regrettably brief, look at Solar Ash, which was initially announced last year, during the Summer Game Fest. Heart Machine’s bright and dizzying platforming adventure, Hyperlight Drifter, showed off a bit more gameplay, including a fight against an extremely enormous flying enemy.
To even get close to the winged creature, the player must first surf to the top of a tower and then leap onto the beast’s back. The monster is eventually eliminated by a powerful kick to the skull after sliding over its armoured skin to damage a succession of nodes.
It’s a little clip, but it’s definitely cool. Hopefully, we’ll see more of these soon. There is no set release date for Solar Ash, but it will be available on the Epic Games Store later this year.
