A rating for a PlayStation 5 version of The Medium has surfaced online.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has been amended to reflect a rating for PS5 – an odd move given that the game is presently only accessible on Xbox Series X and PC, as reported by Gematsu.
The sighting hints that the console exclusivity period is about to an end, implying that the horror was only available on Xbox and its accompanying subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, for six months. If this is correct, it implies the game might be released on PlayStation as soon as next month — but nothing has been verified as of yet.
In case you were wondering, The Medium is described as “an adventure horror game in which players assume the role of a medium exploring an abandoned communist resort in Poland.” It relates “instances of violence,” “huge bloodstains on the walls and floors,” and obnoxious language, but otherwise says little nothing about the inventive terror.
The Medium was initially shown in May 2020, and it ultimately released on January 28 following a small delay from its intended December 2020 release schedule. Bloober Team reported a few days later that it had already recouped its development and marketing expenditures.
