Monster Hunter is one of my favourite games. JRPGs are something I enjoy. Naturally, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a game I’m looking forward to playing. During the Summer Game Fest, we got another glimpse at the forthcoming RPG in the form of a two-minute narrative video packed with Monster Hunter’s famous animals and some lovely moments. It all seems like a cross between How to Train Your Dragon and Monster Hunter.
I wouldn’t blame you if you hadn’t heard of the original Monster Hunter Stories. It was exclusively available on the Nintendo 3DS and cell phones. The fundamental premise is that it’s similar to Pokemon in that you can capture and train different monsters to use in fight. It’s unclear whether Monster Hunter Stories 2 will follow the same approach, as the major focus appears to be on your character’s relationship with a Rathalos.
In any case, Wings of Ruin looks awesome, and I’ll never say no to more Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch on July 9th.
