The Sims 4 is promoting its upcoming update, which appears to be set in the English countryside, leaving gamers speculating if the game will finally include an agricultural aspect.
Popular Simmers and influencers got a letter from the fake town of Henford-on-Bagley, which sounds eerily similar to real-world English cities built on rivers (Newcastle upon Tyne or Stoke-on-Trent, anyone?). The postcard depicts a beautiful watercolor of a stone bridge across a river and various buildings sprinkled along its banks, with the typical greenery of an English hamlet.
The reverse of the postcard has a wonderful statement that reads, “We are so glad you’re visiting us in Henford-on-Bagley!” Its authors are confident that the recipient will love “the charming countryside life,” and invite them to “visit us at our Garden Stall when you come!” It’s signed ‘A & A Crumplebottom,’ confirming the return of a well-known Sims 2 family. The Crumplebottoms are intelligent and rich, and their aristocratic demeanor will mix in nicely with an English countryside expansion.
Naturally, the descriptions of a Garden Stall and the picturesque countryside have Simmers speculating if The Sims 4 would finally include farming activities. An agricultural expansion pack has long been desired by Sims fans, who routinely request it on Sims forums and on Reddit. Farming extensions for The Sims 4 have been introduced by modders, however, there has yet to be an official farming update from EA. “Farming expansion heavy breathing,” Sims 4 forums Redditor u/Silverinkbottle writes in a post on the expansion pack.
The aforementioned letter also teases when we’ll learn more about the next Expansion Pack: “I heard the mayor talking about a worldwide tourist video for Henford-on-Bagley airing June 10 at 8am PT.” So, if you want to learn more about the impending Sims 4 Expansion Pack, tune in to the official Sims YouTube website on June 10 at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET / 4 p.m. BST for what will most certainly be a genuine expansion trailer.
