International Workers’ Day is May 1st, and in honor of the working class and the labor movement that brought us eight-hour workdays, you can download a free video game. Tonight We Riot is a retro brawler in which you command a horde of Molotov-throwing rebels. It’s a more cathartic fantasy than stabbing goblins or shooting aliens, plus it can be played cooperatively, which seems fitting. It’s about taking to the streets and putting the ruling class up against the wall.
Tonight We Riot is now available for free download from itch.io or GOG. On Steam, it’s 90 percent off and, according to developers Pixel Pushers Union 512, “there seem to be regulations about keeping games free for unique durations there, so we put the price as low as they would allow us.”
