Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 for the Nintendo Switch will be out on June 25th, according to Activision.
The critically acclaimed remake of the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games by Vicarious Visions was released in September on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and was later updated for PS5 and Xbox Series X in March. We knew it was coming, so now we can mark June on our calendars to grind some rails, knock some flips, and pop shove-it on the run.
If you missed it the first time around, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remake is a hit, particularly among fans of the original series. The game received a 4/5 rating from GamesRadar, who called it “as good a restoration as we’ve seen this generation” and lauded it for using a good blend of old and modern elements to keep things fresh.
Activision didn’t say anything about how the Switch port of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 varies from the other models, but you should expect it to run at a lower resolution and frame rate if docked or undocked. Still, ideally, you won’t be overly concerned with the lack of ray-traced shadows and will instead concentrate on pulling off the 360 Varial McTwist.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is now available for pre-order on Switch from a variety of retailers.
Unfortunately, the possibility of further THPS remakes does not seem promising, as developer Vicarious Visions is now “completely committed” to Blizzard titles.
